apcupsdで停電時のアラーム音を消す（Ubuntu＋Smart-UPS）

apcupsdは、APC社のUPSをPCからコントロールするユーティリティです。
本記事では、Ubuntu＋Smart-UPS＋apcupsd にて、停電時のアラーム音を消す方法を説明します。

apcupsdで停電時のアラーム音を消すには、acptest からの設定が必要です。
/etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf で BEEPSTATE N にしても、アラーム音を消すことはできず、apctest からの設定が必要です。

apctestの実行前に、apcupsd を停止します。

/etc/init.d/apcupsd stop

apcupsd を停止しておかないと、apctest実行で次のメッセージが出てapctestが起動しません。

Unable to create UPS lock file.
  If apcupsd or apctest is already running,
  please stop it and run this program again.
apctest error termination completed

apctestを実行すると、次のメニューが出ます。
View/Change alarm behavior である 6 を選択します。

Please select the function you want to perform.

1)  Test kill UPS power
2)  Perform self-test
3)  Read last self-test result
4)  View/Change battery date
5)  View manufacturing date
6)  View/Change alarm behavior
7)  View/Change sensitivity
8)  View/Change low transfer voltage
9)  View/Change high transfer voltage
10) Perform battery calibration
11) Test alarm
12) View/Change self-test interval
 Q) Quit

Select function number:

次のアラーム音の設定メニューになるので、D を選択します。

Current alarm setting: ENABLED
Press...
 E to Enable alarms
 D to Disable alarms
 Q to Quit with no changes
Your choice: Select function:

これで、アラーム音が鳴らなくなります。

最後に、停止させていたapcupsd を忘れずに開始します。

/etc/init.d/apcupsd start
